Solafina Guild

We are committed to upholding the highest standards of innovation and design excellence required to meet the fashion-forward, ecologically-centered needs of our customers and their markets.

Prior to the industrial revolution and today's modern corporation, textile master craftsmen tended to form co-fraternity associations known as guilds. The commonality of each guild was typically based on possessing specific skills and technologies such as spinning, weaving, fabric design, knitting and dyeing. The guilds shared among themselves the "arts" and "mysteries" of their crafts allowing each member to function as free and independent master craftsmen with their own specialized skill while benefiting from shared knowledge of their fellow guild members. There was a close interaction between the guild members as product was effectively produced and taken to market.

It is through the spirit of the guild and associations with master textile craftsmen in Western North Carolina that Solafina® "eco-boutique" fabrics are created. From stages of design, spinning of yarn, dyeing, weaving and finishing; each Solafina pattern collectively utilizes the skills of numerous artisans each an expert in their respective field.
